Frequently Asked Questions
1. How to inquire further on an apartment for rent?
In order to rent an apartment, you must see the apartment first. To do so, please check the home page for the contact number of the specific building you would like to rent for. The showings for the apartments are between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m everyday of the week. Please ask to speak to the Superintendent to book your appointment to view the apartment and they will be glad to help you.
2. How do I apply for an apartment for rent?
Please contact our head office at 613-422-9200 and we will provide you with all the steps regarding the application process.
3. What is required when applying?
You will need to provide previous Landlord reference and employment history. If there are no references, you will need a co-signer or lease holder in order to be able to apply and get approved.
4. How long is the lease for?
All leases are made for 12 months, no exceptions. If for any reason you need to leave before the 12 months is up, you will need to sublet the apartment. This means you must find someone else to take over the apartment and they will go through the same application process. After the lease is up, it is a month to month basis and require 2 months notice if you would like to vacate.
5. How to provide a notice of vacating?
This needs to be done in writing (e-mail, or by hand) and sent to the Head Office. Please make sure your name, apartment number and dates of vacating are provided on the letter.
6. Is there parking available?
Yes indoor and outdoor parking is available for an extra charge.
7. How do I file a request or complaint?
If you have a complaint or request such as a repair, you will need to have it in writing (e-mail or letter) and sent to the Head Office. Request for work orders are given to the superintendant in writing. If the repair is not handled within a reasonable amount of time please contact the Head Office and it will be dealt with there.
8. Are pets permitted in the apartment?
Yes, however there are certain conditions that must be adhered to in order to keep a pet in the apartment. There should be no complaints from other tenants in the building.
9. When do the apartments become available for rent?
Apartments are listed for rent 2 months in advance.
